NEM ZAGREB 2024
The unique award ceremony consists of several diverse main and subcategories that pay tribute to the best content from the CEE region. The winners will be announced during NEM Zagreb 2024.
After last year's successful presentation, the NEM Awards 2024, a competition for the best TV content from the CEE region organized in three main categories, will breathe life into numerous projects once again by presenting it to key audiences and industry leaders. The award ceremony will take place during NEM Zagreb 2024, from 4 to 6 December 2024 at the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb.
Registration is open and free of charge for all participants from the CEE region!
CATEGORIES NEM AWARDS 2024
The competition is organized in several main categories:
- The Best Pre-development Project Award is for creatives who have an idea for a TV script, regardless of experience. Several TV formats in the following subcategories meet the application requirements:
- Scripted series
- Scripted feature-length film
- Documentary series/Feature-length film
- Entertainment format
The winner will be supported with €5,000 market exchange opportunities, while the runner-up will be awarded the same in the amount of €2,500 and the third-placed one in the amount of €1,000. The market exchange includes various networking and presentation opportunities all organized by Mediavision with partner events such as Heart of Europe, Conecta, MIPCOM, Series Mania, etc. Furthermore, all finalists will have the opportunity for a public 7-minute presentation of submitted projects at NEM Zagreb 2024, free participation in online pitching and "script surgery" workshops.

Namely, two projects NEM Zagreb, "Playing with Scissors" (scripted) and "Eat a Book" (unscripted), have been selected for Conecta 2024, emphasizing the effectiveness of this transnational partnership in strengthening the industry."

Registration is open until November 10, 2024.
- The Council of Europe Series Co-production Development Award is intended to foster creative collaboration in series co-production and empower independent producers. The award is part of the Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions, as part of the Initiative of the Council of Europe, the headquarters of Eurimages.
The prize is €50,000 (non-refundable).
Applications are open until November 17, 2024.
The 3rd Best Finished Project in the CEE Award will be awarded to the best drama TV series in the CEE region. It is a prestigious recognition of excellence celebrating fully realized and completed TV series from Central and Eastern Europe.

The winners of all major categories and subcategories are chosen by an independent jury of top industry experts. The NEM Awards are an opportunity for screenwriters and content creators, industry-related students, producers, television and production companies, talent and other TV industry professionals from the CEE region, Europe and the rest of the world.
In 2023, the winners of the NEM Awards in five different competition categories were:
- Scripted Series: Rene Gallo – Mild Miracles
- Scripted Feature-length film: Mile Božićević – Mothers of Humanity and Daria Stilin – Tied Up
- Documentary Series / Feature-Length Documentary Film: Julia Groszek - Sugarland
- Non-Scripted Entertainment Format: Martichka Bozhilova and Iskra Angelova – Eat a Book
- The Best Drama TV Series in the CEE: Spy / Master – Warner Bros. Discovery
ABOUT THE EVENT NEM ZAGREB
NEM Zagreb is an event focused on the creation of TV series and films. The aim of the event is to connect talent with valuable opportunities, create space for new collaborations and improve the TV industry in Central and Eastern Europe. NEM Zagreb creates opportunities for new projects, jobs, co-productions between central and eastern European countries and co-productions between countries with low and high production capacity. It also facilitates content acquisitions within and outside the CEE region, as well as investments by European or global streamers in the original content of the CEE region.
