It all started back in 2014, when we were working on a movie "A Perfect Day" and had to find actors for 6 different roles, which means finding 30-50 actors, who suit the description, to be auditioned. Google hasn't helped us, just like all other platforms we have tried, since they were focused on the US market. Thus, we decided to create our own platform, focused on European actors, mostly from Southeastern Europe. In 2018, we decided to open up to all professionals from the A/V industry.
Duart (= do art) helps ensure promotion, visibility and reachability of A/V professionals at one central place. When we were just starting, numerous colleagues were disappointed in the existing ways of finding jobs, which is why we started to organize our own casting sessions, where every person got individual treatment, enough time to explore the role with the casting director, and an approachable casting director who cares about them. Now, we offer a platform where A/V professionals can showcase their experience and achievements, but can also post and apply to job offers.
The platform has been exceptionally well accepted in Croatia, where we gathered over 150 most prominent Croatian actors. We worked with Netflix, Amazon, and BBC One and we hired over 70 actors for different international projects. However, we have now decided to open-up to the entire film industry and A/V professionals globally. With the growth of social media, there is a constant need for videos that can be used on websites, Instagram, Facebook, different apps and all other channels we use to communicate our brand, product and/or service. Every year, we are trying to organize a workshop for professionals, known as Masterclass by Duart, where we offer professionals to improve their skills, learn about good practices in their field, connect and learn from their colleagues and promote themselves.
In 2016. we organized a Masterclass by Timka Grahić, where 15 participants were taught how to do self-tapes, how a headshot and a showreel should look like and what a casting director actually expects from them on an audition.
To catch the interest of companies that are searching for creative professionals, to provide the latest news from the film industry, to create the most extensive database of A/V professionals and provide them with the possibility of communication, to become a jobs marketplace on the European market - sounds impossible, but we made it our GOAL. We also wish to create memorable events and workshops, to connect big brands with actors who can become their ambassadors, and to make our platform different from existing solutions. We are always looking to adjust to the market needs and find new creative ways to become the leading platform in the industry.
