La Biennale di Venezia unveils lineup for 77th edition of Venice International Film Festival
Studio titles, female director and some of the biggest names in international arthouse cinema will be competing for this year's Golden Lion at the 77th Venice International Film Festival.
Set to take place from September 2nd to September -12th, the festival will be split into three sections: Venezia 77, Out of Competition, and Horizons. Studio titles, female director and some of the biggest names in international arthouse cinema will be competing for this year's Golden Lion at the 77th Venice International Film Festival.
As previously announced, Cate Blanchett is serving as the president of this year’s Venice competition jury while Daniele Luchetti’s drama Lacci will open the 77th festival edition. The movie is the first Italian title to open Venice in 11 years and is included in this years Out of Competition section.
In the splendid competition of the 77th Venice Film Festival, some of the highlights might be Sun Children by Majid Majidi, Nomadland by Chloe Zhao as well as Michel Franco's new film Nuevo Orden and Quo Vadis, Aida? by Bosnian director Jasmila Žbanić.
