HARRY POTTER TV SERIES MAX J.K. ROWLING

'Harry Potter' TV series officially confirmed

The magic wands can finally start packing up for Hogwarts because Max (HBO Max) has confirmed that the series, based on the original books, will begin filming

Great news for all fans of the wizarding world and Harry Potter is that a deal has finally been made to film a new series based on J.K. Rowling's seven original books.

Authentic series based on the original books

The director of Warner Bros. Discovery's David Zaslav revealed on Wednesday that the HBO Max platform is being rebranded to the simpler name Max, and he also presented the plan for a new Harry Potter feature series.

"The stories from each of Rowling's Harry Potter books will become a decade-long series created with the same epic skill, love and care that this global franchise is known for. The series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fans, full of fantastic details, beloved characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years. Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while those original, classic and beloved films will remain at the heart of the franchise and available for viewing around the world."

Big enough budget to maintain the quality of the series

Casey Bloys, president and director of HBO and Max programs, said that the budget of the new Harry Potter series will be in the range of Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, which for example amounted to 125 million dollars for the first season of House, even more if the sustainability of the quality of the Harry Potter series requires it.

Zaslav added that "they are free to do whatever they want," and that "some areas we need to work together with J.K., and for other areas we have the full ability to push further." This is a complete implementation of Harry Potter on Max. We can still develop new things.”  Read the full article at KINO FILM.HR
