OSCARS ACADEMY AWARDS EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE

"Everything Everywhere All at Once" rushes towards the Oscar for the best film

After receiving awards from the ASA, there is no doubt that the movie is the biggest favorite at the upcoming Oscars

The pre-Oscar race is over. All important awards for 2022 have already been awarded. Only the most important one remained - Oscars. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will award its statuettes on Sunday, March 12. That is, on Monday, early in the morning of March 13, Croatian time.

It looked like this year's race would be one of the more uncertain ones. Steven Spielberg with the Fabelmans, the German war film All Quiet on the Western Front, and even Tom Cruise with the blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick - all of them had a more or less decent chance to hope for the Oscar for Best Picture. However, after all the American film professional societies handed out the awards, there is no doubt that the favorite is - Everything Everywhere All at Once.

The success of the Daniels duo

An unusual film by the director duo Daniels managed to win the award for the best film in the choice of American directors, actors, screenwriters and producers. It is a huge success that only four films have achieved so far - Argo, No Country for Old Men, Slumdog Millionaire and American Beauty. What do all these movies have in common? They ended up winning the Oscar for Best Picture.

It is clear from everything that the path to the most brilliant statuette is wide open for Everything Everywhere All at Once. The real question is how the film will fare in other categories. Daniels, as directors Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan jointly call themselves, are heavy favorites in the Best Director category. Only Steven Spielberg could spoil their plans with his semi-autobiographical story The Fabelmans. If you want to bet, episodic actor Ke Huy Quan is also a safe bet.

Cate is still the favorite

But already in the categories for best actress, screenplay and cinematography, Everything Everywhere All at Once cannot be so sure of its victory. Cate Blanchett is still the main favorite for best actress with her role in Tar. Michelle Yeoh, the star of Everything Everywhere All at Once, is just lurking there from the shadows. Just like in the category for the best screenplay, Daniels still needs to surprise the Ghost Island. And for the cinematography, according to all indications, the Oscars should go to cinematographer James Friend for the film All Quiet on the Western Front.

In any case, the Everything Everywhere All at Once crew can already start making plans for the celebration. It remains to be seen how big the celebration will be.
