TRACES DUBRAVKA TURIĆ KINORAMA PRIX SAUVAGE

Film Traces won the main prize at the festival in France

The film Traces by director and screenwriter Dubravka Turić won the award for the best feature film at the Paris European Film Festival L'Europe autour de l'Europe

"With the power of her direction, the way she builds emotion only through images and sounds, the way she knows how to find the inner rhythm of each frame, how to keep them, how to arrange them organically, Dubravka Turić encourages us to eagerly await her next films,"said three-member international jury while explaining the decision to give Traces the award for the best feature film of the festival (Prix Sauvage) to Traces.

The award was given to the film at a ceremony held on March 28, and the director and screenwriter Dubravka Turić thanked the festival and the jury in a video. On her behalf, on the spot, Jure Vujić, minister plenipotentiary in charge of culture at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in France, accepted the award.

Dubravka Turić's feature debut, Traces, had its world premiere at last year's International Film Festival in Warsaw. After that, the film was screened at a number of European and international festivals such as Black Nights in Tallinn, the Mediterranean Film Festival in Valencia (Mostra de València), the Zagreb Film Festival, the Belgrade FEST and the Festival in Santa Barbara.

By the way, Dubravka Turić's first short film Belladonna won the Golden Lion - Orizzonti, the award for the best short feature film at the Venice Film Festival in 2015. Dubravka's second short film Cherries premiered in Cannes in the 15 Days of Authors section (Quinzaine des réalisateurs).

With Kinorama as the main producer, the film Traces was created in co-production with the production companies Tremor from Lithuania and Corona film from Serbia. The producer of the film is Ankica Jurić Tilić.

The development of the project, which was created as part of the MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2019 workshop, was supported by the Croatian Audiovisual Center, the Creative Europe program, and the production by HAVC, the Film Center of Lithuania, the Film Center of Serbia, Eurimages and Croatian Radio Television.
