The Cannes Film Festival starts on May 16 and lasts until May 27

The Cannes Film Festival returns in full glory. The world's most glamorous festival was open with a screening of the historical drama "Jeanne du Barry" by the French director Maïwenn, and until May 27, hundreds of films, in the official and parallel programs, as well as in the market, will be presented to viewers.

Everyone is eagerly awaiting the premiere of Martin Scorsese's drama "Killers of the Flower Moon" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

 

 

21 films in competition

 

The festival jury headed by Swedish Oscar winner Ruben Östlund will watch 21 films. Among them are as many as seven films directed by women, which is a Cannes record. The Italian director Alice Rohrwacher comes with the drama "La Chimera" in which Josh O'Connor and Isabella Rossellini have the main roles, while the French Catherine Breillat will surely raise the temperature with the erotic drama "Last Summer".

 

In the race for the Palme d'Or are also Ken Loach with the film "The Old Oak", Wim Wenders with the Japanese excursion "Perfect Days", Aki Kaurismäki will present his 20th feature film "Fallen Leaves", and Wes Anderson will fill the red carpet with numerous stars at the premiere of the film "Asteroid City". Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Nanni Moretti, Jessica Hausner, Hirokazu Kore-eda will delight film fans with their new works...

 

In Cannes, Croatian cinematography will present the short feature film "The Real Truth about the Fight" by director and screenwriter Andrea Slaviček and producer Katarina Prpić (Antitalent), which will have its world premiere as part of the parallel program of the Cannes Film Festival - "Semaine de la Critique ".
