Oscar Nominations 2022: "Dune" and "The Power of the Dog" dominate the race

The nominees for the 94th annual Academy Awards are out, but how white is this years selection?

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its full list of 2022 Oscars nominations. After a year plagued by COVID-19 delays to film productions and an extended awards season, the movie calendar wasn't hit with as many complications during 2021. When it comes to this year's nominees Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, and Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog (now streaming on Netflix)  each won nine nominations apiece while  Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story and Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast closely follow them up.
